INSPIRATIONS Hall 7

Theme “COMFORT ZONE”

Let us take you away from the uncomfortable zones of an unstable world, a place where you don’t feel safe. It is high time to take on board the new parameters of how to live ‘the good life’ at home. On the agenda: achieving physical calm and peace of mind. In response to our desire for rest and tranquillity, curves replace straight lines and shapes become more enveloping, becoming as protective as a snugly down jacket and as reassuring as a child’s favourite cuddly toy. Chairs that look just like funny cushions on legs are perfect for relaxing and ultra soft fabrics enhance the sensation of well-being. References to bubbles, balls, nests and clouds, not forgetting peas in a pod, have inspired the creative imagination of designers to create a new generation of connected-cocoon. Toned-down pastels and pale pink hues wash away tension in a new chic interior that highlights the refined décor. Both eco homes and passive houses dream of an Eden-like interior, but workspace architecture also endeavours to optimise serenity on a day-to-day basis and innovative new technologies serve the cause of well-being. Warm and convivial, the contemporary take on comfort is resolutely comforting: 100% feel good.

Paris Design Week

What’s new in design this autumn? Donwload the PDW app
The sixth annual PARIS DESIGN WEEK, scheduled to overlap with MAISON&OBJET PARIS, will take place from Friday 8 to Saturday 16 September 2017.

For eight days, the event invites French and international professionals and the general public to discover the best showcases of design in Paris, while the leading talents in the discipline gather in the Now! Le Off exhibition (9-13 Sept. 2017 – Les Docks, Cité de la Mode et du Design).
Paris Design Week is an itinerary uniting 250 participants that all proudly promote first-rate design in Paris. At a time when new collections are popping up in stores and the new concepts for the autumn season are being launched, the event brings together the talents and forces of retailers, galleries, showrooms, hotels and restaurants for eight days to share their experience in design and creation with the public.

See participants

Late-night openings, debates and installations bring the city to life, echoing the new releases for autumn and kicking off the pre-holiday sales period. This latest edition intends to forge even stronger and broader ties between those involved in Parisian design, but also to strengthen the event’s technical dimension with the creation of the Projets special itinerary. Established to mirror the development of the MAISON&OBJET PROJETS show, this new themed itinerary invites specifiers and private individuals with development projects to enter the participants’ showrooms to meet interior design professionals – a unique early-autumn opportunity to start planning home improvement and décor projects.
